On Saturday, June 27, Chefs Jeff Henderson, Gason Nelson and Kamili Hemphill gathered for a demonstration and tasting at our Rouses Culinary Innovation Center by Jenn-Air to celebrate Soul Food Month for “Reinventing Soul Food.” They showed off their chops with soul food classics, reinvented for contemporary palates. Chef Jeff, award-winning chef, author, speaker and host of Flip My Food with Chef Jeff, prepared redfish with macquechoux; Chef Gason, The Nola Chef, personal chef extraordinaire and Chopped final round contestant, served up braised short ribs and mashed potatoes; and Chef Kamili, of Emeril’s Test Kitchen Culinary Team, made chicken and dumplings.
