Wetting the Whistle with Dave Pickerell

Whether you call it whisky, usquebaugh, or just plain old aqua vitae, there's a wide, wide world of whiskey out there, and on April 5, spirit guide and legendary master distiller Dave Pickerell (WhistlePig Rye and Maker's Mark) and The Museum of the American Cocktail present a global tour. Join MOTAC for the April 2016 edition of its "Touring the Cocktail" series at Little Tokyo's historic Far Bar and enjoy prime expressions of this ancient spirit, both neat and cocktailed, in concoctions crafted by master bartender Sean Brennan Naughton. Admission includes a light dinner of American and Asian delights.

Tickets are $35 for NatFAB-MOTAC and USBG members, $40 General Admission in advance, and $50 at the door (if available). NatFAB-MOTAC membership is available to all at

About the Presenters

Dave Pickerell, a luminary in the world of whiskey, is one of the nation’s preeminent master distillers. Before joining WhistlePig, he spent 14 years as the Master Distiller for Maker’s Mark in Loretto, Kentucky. He joined the WhistlePig team with a simple (yet astoundingly complex) objective: create the finest rye whiskey.


Currently, Sean Naughton is the bar director at Far Bar in historic Little Tokyo district in Downtown LA. He has served in the hospitality industry for the last two decades at just about every position one can imagine. He wears his love for good people and great drinks on his shoulder. Sean is honored to be a part of helping MOTAC's realize it's mission of advancing the barkeepers profession.
