Join SoFAB to welcome The Photography of Modernist Cuisine: The Exhibition, a collection of over 45 large-format photographs of food taken by Nathan Myhrvold and his team at Modernist Cuisine, opens September 12, 2015 at the Southern Food & Beverage Museum. The exhibit, which has previously run at Pacific Science Center in Seattle, WA; The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, CA; and The Museum of Science in Boston, MA will illuminate the fascinating, accessible science at work every day in our kitchens.
Modernist Cuisine: The Art and Science of Cooking and Modernist Cuisine at Home, both coauthored and published by Myhrvold, won recognition from critics and readers alike for their innovative and engaging photography. Now the creators of these award-winning books have combed through their library of more than 500,000 photographs and identified over 45 of their best images—many of them new or previously unpublished—to display for the exhibit. The exhibit will run through March 2016.

SoFAB Members will enjoy a special preview of the exhibit on September 11, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM. Drinks and small plates will be available for purchase at Purloo Restaurant. Purloo's Happy Hour runs from 3 to 6 PM and features $7 cocktails, half-priced draft beers, and $7 small plates.
