Learn from the author of Decadent Fruit Desserts: Fresh and Inspiring Treats to Excite Your Senses as she makes an easy no-bake berry cheesecake that's perfect for dinner parties, holidays, and backyard barbecues! After the program, enjoy samples of Jackie's work, prepared with fresh fare from Melissa's Produce, while she signs copies of her new book.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Jackie Bruchez, founder of baking blog The Seaside Baker, brings her love of fruits and sweets together in her first cookbook, Decadent Fruit Desserts: Fresh and Inspiring Treats to Excite Your Senses. All of the recipes in this book include “fantastic fruits that elevate each dessert to something more complex than the average sweet.”

A Californian native, Bruchez is spoiled with the “never-ending growing season,” which has inspired these decadent fruit desserts that are much more than tarts and pies. With a diverse set of recipes from “simply dressed” desserts to “frozen sweet concoctions” and “retro-modern delights,” Bruchez presents a dessert fit for any occasion and season. And even the most novice of chefs can recreate her desserts, such as Blood-Orange Crème Brûlée, Bananas Foster Cake, Paloma Tart, and Lemon Cheesecake Bars.

Jackie Bruchez has combined different elements of her upbringing in her debut cookbook. She writes of the “tropical-infused recipes that feature fruits and flavors of Hawaii, where I spent a good part of my childhood,” Italian flavors “I grew up eating at my grandparents’ big Sunday dinners,” and “beaucoup French-inspired recipes that have helped manage to keep my husband around for the past 15-plus years.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Seven years ago, in an effort to find a fun creative outlet, Jackie Bruchez created the blog, The Seaside Baker. It quickly became her passion and full-time business. She and her family, who live in Oceanside, California, love to garden, visit You-Pick Farms, and hit the Farmers Market every weekend. After harvesting or buying enough produce to feed an army, she and her family return home and turn their bounty into something delectable to share. Jackie loves to entertain and uses good food as a way to show she cares. If Jackie is not in the kitchen, you can find her on the computer seeking and/or booking her next big adventure. Her family learned early on that travel was in her blood and have since caught the “bug." Her recipes have been featured by Buzzfeed, The Huffington Post, and The Knot.
