Uncommon Gourmet Specialty Food & Wine Store will host Liz Williams at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, August 30. This will be a special opportunity to meet the founder of Southern Food and Beverage Museum in New Orleans, and author of several food-related books. She will give a brief presentation on Sicilian food and beverage, the subject of her upcoming book, followed by questions/ discussion, and book signing.

SoFAB's Director Liz Williams will give a talk on New Orleans cocktail culture with a book signing and reception at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31 at Ciné, 234 W. Hancock St. in downtown Athens. New Orleans drink specials will be available for sale in the Ciné BarCafé.

At 12:30 PM Liz Williams will present "The Art of Southern Cocktails" with Fred Minnick at the AJC Decatur Book Festival. Hear two experts honor the unique art of a good Southern cocktail. In Rum Curious, award-winning writer and renown whiskey expert Fred Minnick provides a tour of the world of rum, teaching readers how to taste rum and appreciate it in all its glorious variety. In Lift Your Spirits, Liz Williams, founder and director of the Southern Food and Beverage Institute, delves into myths, traditions, and personalities that have made New Orleans a destination for imbibing tourists and a mecca for mixologists.
