Summer Kids Culinary Camp 2015
WHAT: Kids Culinary Camp is a half-day summer camp that gets kids in the kitchen to learn to cook in a way that’s hands-on and fun. Each day there’s a new recipe and campers work together measuring, chopping, and stirring to create a delicious and healthy lunch to enjoy with each other. They’ll also be staying active and improving their nutritional literacy through games and arts and crafts projects.
WHO: Kids Camp is for children rising into grades 2nd through 5th and/or up to 12 years old.
WHERE: Kids Camp is held at the Southern Food and Beverage Museum at 1504 Oretha C. Haley Boulevard.
WHEN: Camp runs from 9 AM to 12 PM every weekday for five weeks. This year’s Kids Camp will be held the weeks of:
- June 1 – June 5
- June 8 – June 12
- June 15 – June 19
- June 22 – June 26
- July 6 – July 10
COST: Each week of camp will be $75 per camper, and $60 per camper for SoFAB Members. To cover rising food, utility, and staffing costs, we had to make this change so that the camp can continue as a place for kids to learn, and grow in confidence in the kitchen.
HOW TO REGISTER: Registration will open here, on this page, on April 6, 2015 at 12 PM. Please click on the first date of the week you are interested in to see tickets. We have a discounted price for SoFAB Members. If you are not a SoFAB Member and you purchase the member ticket, you may lose your spot as we verify. If you think you are a member but are unsure, please contact Kelsey Parris (email@example.com or 504-267-7490). If you have any issues with registering, please call us at 504-267-7490. Tickets may be refunded or exchanged up to 48 hours prior to the event. After 48 hours no refunds will be available.
Once you have completed the registration, you will receive an email from Artful.ly confirming your order. In the next few days, you will also receive an email from Jennie Merrill, our camp director, with your camp information packet.

Our theme for Middle School Week was New Orleans Restaurants, and we had a great time recreating some of the famous dishes from around the city.
Our fifth week of camp was jam packed with fun and cooking all revolving around our board game inspired themes!
Week 4 of Kids Camp was a huge success, with a fun filled week of cooking based on our European theme.
In our third week of our annual Kids Camp, we had a music themed week, revolving all of our cooking around the music genre of the day!
For Week 2 of our annual Kids Camp, we had a great time with a Disney themed week packed with cooking and fun!
