Join the Southern Food & Beverage Museum to welcome Mikko Macchione for a signing of his new book “Rum and New Orleans: A Decadent History" and rum cocktail demonstration.

The program begins at 1 PM in the Rouses Culinary Innovation Center by Jenn-Air, samples are first come, first served. Free with museum admission.

About Mikko Macchione

Mikko has been a figure on the New Orleans artistic landscape for over 25 years. He's an award-winning actor, writer and historian. He was the leader of an historic character company for 15 years, where he and his group of dedicated performers presented the lives of the great New Orleanians His play Jour de Gloire about the life of Napoleon garnered many awards and critical praise. He also holds two Independent Publishers awards one for his book Napoleon House. He was the major voice in the Louisiana and Mississippi Travel Guides for years. Mikko prepared the research and text for the photographic books: Majesty of the French Quarter, Masking and Madness, and many others . Further he contributed to the official books for City Park, Steamboat Natchez, and the Gallier/Hermann-Grima House.
