Food: Sense or Science?

  • Southern Food and Beverage Museum 1504 Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard New Orleans, LA, 70113 United States

Join SoFAB for the 2015 Contemporary Issues in Food & Drink Lecture Series presented by Domino Foods, Inc. This year, Dr. Eric Griggs addresses the query "Food: Sense or Science?"

Why do we eat? Food and drink present to us a sensory experience that brings us pleasure and is emotionally satisfying. They also present an array of choices based on the scientifically identified need for certain nutritional components essential for new cell development and bodily well-being. Which should be the basis of eating? We look forward to a lively discussion. Be sure to visit The Photography of Modernist Cuisine: The Exhibition while at the museum to see the science of food up close.

The lecture is free and open to the public. Many thanks to our sponsor, Domino Foods, Inc.
