Why do we eat? Food and drink present to us a sensory experience that brings us pleasure and is emotionally satisfying. They also present an array of choices based on the scientifically identified need for certain nutritional components essential for new cell development and bodily well-being. Which should be the basis of eating? We look forward to a lively discussion. About the Presenter
Dr. Eric Griggs is a New Orleans-based physician and health educator who has dedicated his professional life to increasing health and wellness awareness in the New Orleans community. The City of New Orleans had always occupied the pride of place in his heart. Dr. Griggs graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1992 and Tulane University School of Medicine in 1996. He has been an active health advocate since graduation, and as an active participant in his programs, he has made it his life’s work to educate the community on health and well-being. Doc Griggs’ mantra is “Get checked. Get fit. Get moving!” His approach transcends race and gender barriers. His ability to speak fluent Spanish allows him to utilize a comprehensive and creative approach to engage men, women and children of both English and Spanish speaking heritage.
