Demonstration Lunches at SoFAB

Every Monday and Thursday from 11 AM to 1 PM, the Southern Food & Beverage Museum offers a weekly lunch demonstration in the state-of-the-art Rouses Culinary Innovation Center by Jenn-Air

Presented by Liz Williams, SoFAB Founder and President, and Jyl Benson, SoFAB's Director of Culinary Programming, the demonstration class offers an in-depth look into how to create delicious, traditional dishes that can be found nowhere else in the world, while discussing their cultural and historical origins. Admission and a guided private tour of the Southern Food & Beverage Museum led by Liz Williams is included in the ticket price.

There are three demonstration lunches you can enjoy at this time. On Mondays we explore the cuisine of Creole New Orleans  with a menu featuring a remoulade salad, Creole jambalaya, and Bananas Foster. On Thursdays we turn to a lesser known cuisine of New Orleans and learn about the history of Creole Italian cuisine in New Orleans with olive salad, a Creole Red Gravy and made to order snoballs. Beginning in March 2017, SoFAB will offer an alternating class that celebrates and explores Louisiana's Cajun Cuisine with gumbo, macque choux and a spiced cake. See full menus below.
