The Museum of the American Cocktail's (MOTAC) "Touring the Cocktail" series makes its Santa Barbara début with "Agave 101." Join us as we tour the wide world of agave spirits, including bacanora, mezcal, raicilla, sotol, and tequila, and taste samples from Bosscal Mezcal Joven, Cielo Rojo Bacanora, Mezcal IBÁ, Mezcal Unión Uno, Ocho Cientos Sotol, Raicilla La Venenosa, Revel Avila, Tapatio Tequila, and more. Enjoy informative presentations from Ricky Yarnall, The Henry Wine Group, Philip M. Dobard, The Museum of the American Cocktail, Nick Daniels, Pacific Edge Wine & Spirits, and Zachariah Parks, Jalisco Trading Co.

The Good Lion's Brandon Ristaino will serve a range of agave cocktails and LA's Tacos Punta Cabra will prepare ceviche, crudo, and other small bites.

Tickets are $40 in advance, $35 for SoFAB-MOTAC and USBG members, and $50 at the door. About the Drinkmaster

Brandon Ristaino is a Santa Barbara-based hospitality operator with a specific focus on high-volume craft cocktail venues. Formerly Director of Operations at Temple Bar Concepts and General Manager & Beverage Director at The Townhouse & Del Monte Speakeasy in Venice (Best New Bars 2012 – LA Magazine), he has over 18 years of hospitality experience. Professional highlights include General Manager of The Bigfoot West LA (Best of the West, LA Confidential Magazine), Spirits Director & Head Bartender at The Thirsty Crow LA (Best Bars in America 2011 Esquire Magazine, Los Angeles’s Best Bar 2012 GQ UK), and Head Mixologist at The 1933 Group (Sassafras, Thirsty Crow, Big Foot Lodge, La Cuevita, Big Foot San Francisco, Oldfield’s Liquor Room). Mr. Ristaino and his wife Misty currently own and operate The Good Lion, a Downtown Santa Barbara cocktail bar. The Good Lion specializes in farm-to-glass cocktails and offers a weekly rotating seasonal menu. Additionally, the Ristainos operate a cocktail catering and events company in collaboration with The Good Lion.
