Children's author Whitney Stewart is heading to the Southern Food & Beverage Museum! She will lead a cooking demonstration and book signing for her new book What's On Your Plate? Exploring the World of Food. Targeted to kids ages 5-9, Stewart's book takes kids on a tour through the cuisines of 14 countries, complete with a recipe for each one. See how people in different countries prepare, eat, and think about their food.
This event is presented in partnership with the John & Bonnie Boyd Hospitality & Culinary Library and is free with museum admission. Those who purchase a copy of What's On Your Plate? in the SoFAB Pantry will receive 1 complimentary admission per book. The program begins at 1 PM in the Rouses Culinary Innovation Center by Jenn-Air, samples are first come first serve.
About the Author
Whitney Stewart has trekked in a Himalayan snowstorm with Sir Edmund Hillary. She's explored Tibet and interviewed the Dalai Lama in India. She's hiked to mountain temples in Burma and Japan. She's even worked as a puppeteer and salad chef in France. She is the author of travel stories, children's books, and her new mindfulness books Mindful Me: Mindfulness and Meditation for Kids. When not writing or traveling, she teaches mindfulness and meditation to children.
