Join the Southern Food & Beverage Museum and Camellia Brand to welcome author Jenné Claiborne to the museum for a demonstration and book signing. Her new book, Sweet Potato Soul: 100 Easy Vegan Recipes for the Southern Flavors of Smoke, Sugar, Spice, and Soul celebrates the flavors and history of southern soul food, while updating the recipes and making them vegan. Jenné will discuss the adaptation process and her experiences while demonstrating a favorite recipe.
The program begins at 2 PM in the Rouses Culinary Innovation Center by Jenn-Air, samples are first come first serve. The program will be free and open to the public with the support of Camellia Beans.
About the Author
Jenné Claiborne is a vegan personal chef, cooking instructor, and the charismatic blogger behind Sweet Potato Soul. She studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and founded the personal chef company, The Nourishing Vegan. She is the co-creator of Buddhalicious, an online meal planning service that makes it easy for people to adopt a healthy and delicious vegan diet. She and has been on the Today show, and her recipes have been featured in a wide range of publications, including The New York Times, Reader’s Digest, Well + Good, Vegetarian Times, Shape, and Refinery 29.
