About the Chicago Brewseum

The Chicago Brewseum highlights the dynamic culture and innovative history of one of the world’s most vibrant industries.  By using stories of the past and tales of the present, the Chicago Brewseum takes a deeper look into one of the oldest beverages and its power to build community and its importance as an ongoing cultural force.

Liz Garibay is beer and tavern historian who explores history and culture through the lens of alcohol.  Her work has been lauded by the Chicago Tribune, The Huffington Post, the LA Times, the Toronto Star, The Scotsman, The Berliner Kurier, a variety of other international publications, an assortment of cultural organizations, and an array of tavern & brewery owners. In 2013 she became the first and only American invited to join the Pub History Society of the United Kingdom. When not researching or writing, Liz is busy consulting for museums, breweries or commenting on podcasts, broadcasts and other media outlets.  She often hosts talks, tours and historic thirst-free experiences around the world for both public and private clients via her company, History On Tap.  Liz is also the founder of The Chicago Brewseum, a future museum dedicated to highlighting the dynamic culture and innovative history of one of the world’s most vibrant industries.  For more information about Liz and her work, please visit http://www.historyontap.com/
